You can shoot 2 3/4 inch shells in the 3 inch Browning Auto 5. You will just have to set the rings for 2 3/4 inch loads. The very light 2 3/3 inch loads will not always cycle perfectly as the magnum spring is strong. I would mot use steel in the older Browning Auto 5’s that were made in Belgium.
